Advocates are called lawyers, such lawyers become those who have completed their studies of law and practicing in court, that means the job of a lawyer is to fight a person's case in court. These are not students of law. Practicing profession in full-court are advocates because people who are not able to present themselves before the court, they need an advocate i.e lawyer and fight their case.

Difference between Advocate and Lawyer:
1. An Advocate can be a Lawyer but a Lawyer cannot be an Advocate. Advocate is a step ahead of the Lawer. The advocate's scope of work is greater.
2. Advocate words are not used in the US where they are simply called the Lawyer whereas the term Advocate is used mainly in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries.
3. The lawyer has studied Law and is in training and cannot fight any case while Advocate can present his client's side in court.
4. An advocate's job is to represent and represent his client in court whereas a lawyer's job is to provide legal advice to the client and file a PIL (public interest litigation) in a case.

एडवोकेट और लॉयर शब्द का यूज लोग एक साथ करते हैं लेकिन यह दोनों अलग-अलग हैं वैसे तो इनके कई प्रकार है और इन्हें कई नामों से जाना जाता है जैसे एटॉर्नी ,सॉलीसीटर, एडवोकेट ,लॉयर ,बैरिस्टर वैसे यह सभी अपने क्षेत्रों में स्पेशलिस्ट होते हैं
एडवोकेट और लॉयर में क्या अंतर है ?
एडवोकेट किसे कहते हैं ?
एडवोकेट को हिंदी में वकील कहते हैं वैसे वकील वही बनते जिन्होंने वकालत की पढ़ाई पूरी कर ली हो और कोर्ट में प्रैक्टिस कर रहा हो , मतलब वकील का काम कोर्ट में किसी व्यक्ति का मुकदमा लड़ना होता है यह कोई कानून के स्टूडेंट्स नहीं होते हैं यह पूर्ण रूप से कोर्ट में प्रोफेशनल प्रैक्टिस कर रहे होते हैं
एडवोकेट इसलिए बनते हैं जो लोग कोर्ट के सामने खुद अपनी बात नहीं रख पाते हैं उन्हें एक एडवोकेट यानी वकील की जरूरत पड़ती है और उनका मुकदमा लड़ते हैं
अब जानते हैं लॉयर किसे कहते हैं ?
लायर उसने कहा जाता है जो अभी LLB Law की पढ़ाई कर रहा होता है और यह कोर्ट में किसी का मुकदमा भी नहीं लड़ सकता है क्योंकि यह एक स्टूडेंट होते हैं क्योंकि आमतौर पर किसी काबिल वकील के साथ देखते होंगे जो उनके साथ होता है वह एक सीखने वाला स्टूडेंट होता है और वकील के साथ रहकर कोर्ट की कार्यप्रणाली सीखता है कुछ लोग लॉ की पढ़ाई करते समय भी सीखते हैं और कुछ लोग पढ़ाई खत्म होने के बाद वकील के साथ रहकर भी सीखते हैं वैसे लॉयर शब्द का यूज अमेरिका में ज्यादा किया जाता है
एडवोकेट और लॉयर में अंतर एडवोकेट और लॉयर में अंतर:-
1. एक एडवोकेट लॉयर हो सकता है लेकिन एक लॉयर एडवोकेट नहीं हो सकता है एडवोकेट लॉयर से एक कदम आगे का पद होता है एडवोकेट के काम का दायरा बड़ा से बड़ा होता है
2. एडवोकेट वर्ड का यूज़ अमेरिका में नहीं किया जाता है वहां उन्हें केवल लॉयर कहा जाता है जबकि एडवोकेट शब्द का यूज मुख्य रूप से यूनाइटेड किंगडम और अन्य राष्ट्रमंडल देशों में किया जाता है
3. लॉयर लॉ की पढ़ाई किया होता है और वह ट्रेनिंग में होता है और किसी का मुकदमा नहीं लड़ सकता है जबकि एडवोकेट कोर्ट में अपने क्लाइंट का पक्ष रख सकता है
4. एडवोकेट का कार्य है कोर्ट में अपने क्लाइंट का पक्ष रखना और उनका प्रतिनिधित्व करना होता है जबकि एक लॉयर का कार्य क्लाइंट को कानूनी सलाह देना होता है और किसी मामले में जनहित याचिका दाखिल करना होता है
